Do I need to buy a larger size when my baby grows bigger?

No, that is the beauty of the Littlepods pouch . The different carrying positions will allow the baby to be carried from birth to toddlerhood all in the sling of the same size.

When I carry my baby in the hip carry position, the pouch feels too big and my baby is leaning back too much.

As the baby grows, less of their body will be in the pouch , so a lot of people may need a smaller size with a toddler. Try the shoulder flip to pull the baby in closer towards you and if that doesn’t work, you may want to try a smaller pouch .

My baby looks so curled up and compact in the cradle carry. He doesn’t look comfortable at all.

As long as they are not crying, you can rest assured that they feel perfectly comfortable in that snug position regardless of what we think. They are much more flexible that we think. They have spent months in the foetal position in your womb and that is the position that they feel most secure in.

My pouchfeels like it is the wrong size. How can I tell?

If it feels wrong, it usually is wrong. With the right size, there is minimal strain on the wearer’s back and shoulders. Most people think that their pouch is too small when it is actually the right size. The bottom of the pouch should just be at level of your navel and the fit around the baby is quite snug. If it feels impossible to put the baby in the pouch then you need a bigger size.

What is the padding for?

In the hip/ tummy to tummy position, the padding goes behind the baby’s knees. It provides cushioning and prevents the fabric from digging into their legs. In the other positions you can use the padding as a ‘handle’ to bounce the baby into the pouch .

How do I care for the pouch?

Just pop it into the washing machine and wash it on cold setting. You can line dry (best option) or tumble dry on LOW. Do not dry on high heat as this could cause the sling to shrink. Iron on medium heat if necessary.
